I will never stay at this hotel again. When you get there it seems really nice. However from there it goes downhill. When my husband checked in he asked specifically if we had a frig in our room and was a code needed for the internet. He was told yes there was a frig and no he wouldn't need a code for "free internet." He was then handed the room keys and some free cookies. We got to our room and it seemed okay. Nothing amazing, it had a lot of scuffs on the wall which was surprising to me but not something I was about to freak over. We put drinks in the frig and headed to the pool. Well three hours later we came back opened the frig for a drink and found them warmer then when we put them in. Also we tried to use the internet and found we had to pay. We called the front desk. They sent a guy to check the frig which is not a frig but a cooler (it will maintain a cool temp but not cool anything warm). We asked also asked about the internet. Only to be told it is not free in your rooms only in the lobby. They would not help us or comp the internet and we ended up calling DoubleTree directly. This place is just not worth the money. Everything is extra in a town where you can get the same things free from a better if not equal hotel. Parking cost which is not uncommon but its higher then most. They misrepresent their services like the frig and free internet. Oh and we have not heard back from DoubleTree yet.

This place was Awesome. Whne my daughter and I return to Florida next year the Doubletree will be the place we stay at. I arrived earllier than normal check in time and they had my room waiting and ready for me when I arrived. Also those cookies they give you at checkin are the die for, I even bought some on my way checking out. The staff was so accommodating, I forgot my razor and thought I would have to find a store to purchase one. The front counter not only gave me a razor, but shaving cream as well! My daughter loved the pool and the whole hotel was clean and fresh. We had breakfast at the on site restaurant and the food was not only great, but it was under price for what you recieved. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay at a hotel that is walking distance to Universal Studios.

We stayed here for a quick get a way with the kids. Walking distance to Universal was a plus! The room was very clean and nice. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. They patiently answered my sons 1001 questions and were very friendly. Will stay here again in the future!

first of all, the inside of the building is nice, but when we got to our room it smelled stale, and the bathroom smelled moldy like the shower curtain needed washing. The room next to us had a child that was screaming, and they decided they were getting up early and leting the door slam shut as they were coming and going (we didn't need a alarm clock) there was no complimentary breadfast but we got a cookie when we checked in and were told that on top of the * we paid for the night we had to pay * dollars for parking, to stay at their hotel!!!!! the cafe on the property was fairly reasonable for our subs and they piled the meat on, however they reversed part of the toppings on our subs. the only reason we even stayed at this hotel is because it is across from universal and it was our anniversary and we wanted to walk instead of drive and pay for parking. we have stayed in orlando before for much more reasonable prices and better rooms. beleive me they are out there

This is the ONLY place I will stay in Orlando aside from the Westgate in Kissimmee, and it's the only place I stay when I know that I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights. I have never once had an issue with the staff, management, or rooms. The staff is always friendly. If ever I have had an issue, I didn't even have to go to the management; the hotel staff at the front desk took care of it, and I never even had to leave my room. I have always been able to check in at least 4 hours ahead of when check in time is scheduled, my room is ALWAYS clean and cozy, and never once have I had to ask staff to bring me anything. They knock on my door and ask me if I need anything. If my "DO NOT DISTURB" sign is up, the housekeeping staff has always left me fresh towels, a fresh baked cookie, and a sweet note letting me know to sit my dirty linens outside the door and they will pick them up, and that if I need my bed changed to call the front desk. The restaurants and bar are always clean (they proudly display scores from the Health Department of 98-100), and they serve great food and drinks at an affordable price. My husband and I are honeymooning in Orlando in October, and this where we plan on staying.
